Very curious that the alternate title of this painting was "It All Comes From Sticking To A Soldier". Walter Sickert has been alleged to have been "Jack the Ripper" and the STABBING(sticking) murder of Martha Tabram on August 7,1888 has been alleged to have been his first victim. She was last seen WITH A SOLDIER going into George Yard Court leading to George Yard Building in the arched entrance of which she was killed. THIS image is reminiscent of it because the apparently plump woman's head is all of her that is visible and "cut off" at the neck with her mouth open; similar to the Tabram mortuary photograph. Also notice the ghoulish looking face of the derby-hatted man leering at her just next to her head.
